Bloody/Bath - Burning/A Dream
The debut 7” vinyl from bloody/bath "Idle Hands" is also the debut release by Kooky Too, an offshoot of Kooky Records est 1996 (previous output including the acclaimed Durutti Column album ‘A Paean To Wilson’).
Championed by Iggy Pop, the second vinyl single from bloody/bath is a new two track 7” ‘Burning / A Dream’. The Northampton-based post-punk band recorded the tracks with WH Lung and Eagulls producer Matt Peel at The Nave in Leeds. ‘Burning / A Dream’ comes after a busy 2022 for the band, seeing them support bdrmm, Do Nothing, Deadletter, Opus Kink and Ritual Howls while promoting ‘Idle Hands / Sunder’, their first 7” single on Kooky>Too. ‘Idle Hands’ received BBC Radio 6Music play from Iggy Pop, Lauren Laverne and Steve Lamacq, who described it as “so elegant and haunted, in an almost gothic way, but with that bass momentum of a proper postpunk song”.
They have been highlighted by Radio X’s John Kennedy, while Louder Than War described thm as “music to submerge yourself in”. Beginning in 2020 as a bedroom project before evolving into a full band in 2021, bloody/bath have steadily accrued a 8 fanbase via their intense, cathartic live shows and online, with 1.8 million streams, over 30,000 monthly listeners and featuring on Spotify editorial playlists ‘Spooky’, ‘Lo-fi Indie’ and ‘New Music Friday UK’.
