The perennial indie-rock favourites from Austin, Texas, return with their ninth studio album 'Hot Thoughts'.
Returning to the label that released their 1996 debut, ‘Telephono’, and following on Spoon’s streak of three consecutive US Top 10 albums —‘Ga Ga Ga Ga Ga’ (2007), ‘Transference’ (2010) and ‘They Want My Soul’ (2014) — ‘Hot Thoughts’ is likely to continue that impressive run of form.
This particular album adds new electronic elements, not seen on their previous releases; consequently keeping their sound fresh. Yes, the album sounds like Spoon, but it comes it is a familiar sound with a new twist.
Hot Thoughts is packed full of excellent tunes and a worthy 'Record of The Week'.
